girv.net 4.1

Some quite big changes to girv dot net recently. I’m calling this “4.1″:
- Added this blog to the main navigation to make it publically accessible at last!
- Revamped the old contact form into a combined contact form and guestbook, complete with jQuery based javascript eye candy and client side validation.
- Redid the mastheads (”girv.net”, “amiga.girv.net” etc.) to hopefully be easier to read. I like the new look, it’s much more the “web 2.0″ feel I was going for with the site as a whole. I was also able to remove some javascript trickery that was required for the old mastheads to display properly under Internet Explorer 6.0, which can’t be a bad thing in itself.
- Added links to my newly created LinkedIn and Facebook profile pages.
- Integrated with iTunes (via the excellent AMIP plugin) to display what I’m currently havin’ it large to in the bottom bar.
- Tweaked the layout of the items in the left hand bar for more horizontal space.
- Added a couple of new left hand bar items, not least of which is one of those everso trendy “tag cloud” things made up of the most popular Google search query keywords that find this site.
- Removed the increasingly irrelevant and annoying eBay adverts.
…and the usual raft of hidden, technical fiddlings that you’re not interested in
